The installation was developed to transform an exposed, underutilized rooftop into a weather-protected, aesthetically striking public space that enhances foot traffic and visitor comfort throughout the year.

Engineering a Commercial Terrace Tensile Structure

Designing a rooftop fabric canopy requires addressing site-specific environmental stresses, particularly elevated wind uplift, boundary layer turbulence, and dead-load structural limits on existing building slabs. This rooftop tensile canopy utilizes high-tensile, PVDF-coated architectural membrane material, tensioned over a custom-fabricated structural steel framework anchored directly to primary structural columns.
