Schafbock Design + Workshop completed a custom hdpe pool shade at Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad. This structure provides high thermal comfort and reliable UV defense across the poolside lounging zone. In addition, it enhances the outdoor aesthetic of the club. The canopy combines lightweight engineering with durable fabric to handle harsh weather conditions.

Engineered HDPE Pool Shade for Thermal Comfort & UV Protection

Club swimming facilities require dependable shade. However, solid roofs often trap hot air underneath. To solve this issue, our team selected high-density polyethylene architectural mesh. Unlike solid fabrics, an hdpe pool shade features a micro-perforated weave. Therefore, hot air escapes freely while the fabric blocks up to 95% of harmful UV rays. As a result, deck temperatures drop significantly during peak daylight hours.

Structural Engineering and Rapid 15-Day Execution

Our team completed the installation in just 15 days to avoid member inconvenience. The workflow involved precise site measurements, off-site fabrication, and seamless tension rigging:

• Structural Framework: High-grade hollow steel sections support the canopy. Furthermore, multi-coat polyurethane coatings protect the steel from moisture and pool chlorine.
• Membrane Tensioning: We utilized Grade 316 stainless steel perimeter cables and turnbuckles. Consequently, the canopy maintains uniform tension without sagging.
• Wind Load Resistance: The structure complies with regional wind safety codes. Thus, it remains stable even during strong seasonal storms.

Architectural Fabric Performance

The selected knitted HDPE fabric features heavy-duty UV stabilizers. Because of this treatment, the material resists tearing and fading for years. Moreover, it retains high tensile strength under direct sunlight.
