Tensile Shade for Nishulk Bhojanalay
The Tensile Shade for the Nishulk Bhojanalay at the Somnath Temple complex is a purpose-built structure designed to facilitate a seamless experience for thousands of devotees daily. Completed in May 2024 for the Shree Somnath Trust, this project exemplifies a balance of high-durability engineering and architectural lightness, featuring a framework specifically designed to withstand cyclonic wind speeds exceeding 180 km/h. As seen in the project management interface in image_a0ac1b.png, the structure utilizes a multi-layered protection system—including hot-dip galvanizing and PU top coats—to ensure long-term resistance against the corrosive coastal environment. Nearly two years after its installation, the facility continues to maintain its structural integrity and aesthetic finish, serving as a quiet but essential pillar of the temple’s daily service to the community.
